Bargains galore as Stoke properties go under the hammer

A string of homes at bargain prices across Stoke-on-Trent are set to attract househunters with DIY skills and property investors alike when they come up for sale at Bond Wolfe Auctions’ next auction on Wednesday 9 December.

A number of two bedroom mid-terraced homes across Stoke are going under the hammer with guide prices* starting at just £15,000+, while some three bedroom semi-detached homes have been entered for sale with a guide price of just £40,000+ in the online-only, live-streamed auction.

Many of the homes are in need of extensive renovation, repair or updating work.

Gurpreet Bassi, chief executive of Bond Wolfe Auctions, said: “We continue to see a considerable number of properties coming to the market with low guide prices, often because of the degree of work that is needed.

“For young house hunters, looking for their first home, these properties offer an opportunity to get a foot on the housing ladder for those willing and able to put in the necessary work.

“These properties also offer commercial opportunities to the growing community of small-scale property developers and, of course, helps the wider community as more homes across Stoke-on-Trent are brought back into use.

Among the bargains is a two bedroom mid terraced house at 72 St Aidans Street, in Tunstall, Stoke-on-Trent, which has been subject to fire damage, and a similar style property four miles away at 40 Lower Mayer Street, in Hanley.

Both come with a guide price of £15,000+ and comprise two reception rooms, a kitchen and a bathroom on the ground floor with two bedrooms on the first floor. Both stand flush to the pavement and have a yard at the rear, but the Hanley property benefits has a gas fired central heating system and UPVC double glazing.

A similar property at 49 Woolrich Street, also comes with a £15,000+ guide price but differs in having a through reception room on the ground floor and the bathroom WC with the two bedrooms on the first floor. It is also in need of modernisation.

They are among a catalogue of 184 properties to be offered on Wednesday 9 December, which will be the fifth online auction held by Bond Wolfe Auctions since COVID-19 restrictions were introduced in March. It follows Bond Wolfe Auctions’ record result of £21.3 million at its October sale.

The company sold 185 lots from the 201 lots offered on Wednesday 28 October, which represented an impressive success rate of 93%.

Its previous record was set at its auction in February this year, which achieved total sales of just over £20.25 million.
