A series of intriguing properties being sold on behalf of Birmingham City Council are the first five lots in Bond Wolfe Auctions’ next auction at Villa Park.

The auction on Thursday 9 May will start with a former caretaker’s home which includes a potential building plot at 8 Fentham Road in Erdington, Birmingham.

This three bedroomed, detached house, which has a new, 125-year lease, has off-road parking spaces with two garages and comes with a guide price* of just £150,000+.

Gurpreet Bassi, chief executive of Bond Wolfe Auctions, said: “This vacant, detached house is expected to attract lots of interest from bidders as it stands back from the road behind a front garden with additional land to the side, which may be suitable for residential development subject to planning permission.

“This is typical of the intriguing properties we are now selling at our auctions on behalf of Birmingham City Council, a supply of lots that is bound to make our auctions even more popular.”

Bond Wolfe Auctions, the UK’s newest auction business, has recently won the contract to handle the disposal of Birmingham City Council’s surplus property and land assets, helping it to get the maximum value possible for the city and its tax payers.

The next four city council lots are all for development land, starting with approximately 121 sq m of freehold land adjacent to 56 Runcorn Road in the busy suburb of Sparkbrook.

This land, which has a competitive guide price of £7,500+, could be suitable for a variety of uses including a potential car park, subject to planning permission

Next under the hammer is a 295 sq m plot of land adjacent to 1 Magdala Street in Winson Green, described as a “freehold residential development opportunity”, subject to planning permission, with a guide price of £25,000+.

Another “freehold residential development opportunity” subject to planning permission is a large, 549 sq m plot of land adjacent to 11 Stones Green in Erdington, with a guide price of £40,000+.

Meanwhile, a 157 sq m parcel of freehold land adjacent to 1 Foredraft Close in Quinton, Birmingham, which “could be suitable for a number of uses subject to planning permission” comes with a guide price of just £10,000+.

Mr Bassi added: “The properties we are selling on behalf of the city council present excellent opportunities for switched-on developers, with the added benefit that the previous owner is extremely reputable and transparent.”
