Traditional values, modern solutions

Do you have a property to sell or let?

Due to the current restrictions caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, our auctions will be livestreamed via our website with remote bidding by proxy, telephone or internet (you will not be able to attend the auction in person).

Potential purchasers will need to pre-register by returning our remote bidding form, provide their identification and debit card details no later than 24 hours prior to the auction.

If you are thinking about buying a property, the good news is that we can now undertake viewings again, enabling you to undertake your usual due diligence before bidding at auction.

We are also delighted to launch our brand new 360° virtual tours, giving you the opportunity to look at the property you are interested in from the comfort of your own home before arranging a viewing appointment.

Please read our 10 step guide to our social distance viewings.

What is a remote bidding auction?

Our traditional in-room auctions attract between 2,000-3,000 people at each event, so for obvious reasons we will not be able to go back to holding them in this way just yet.

However, we already stream our auctions live via our website so anyone can watch the auction from any device anywhere in the world.

Rather than having everyone mass gather at one auction venue, we will still hold the auction on a set time and date but behind closed doors. Our usual auctioneers will conduct the auction from our offices, with our staff being able to safely social distance from each other, and stream the auction via the internet.

How to bid?

We have 3 different ways to remote bid.  These were already offered at our in-room auctions, so they are all tried and trusted ways of bidding. In fact, we had 850 remote bidders register for our 27th February 2020 auction, so we know they work well, and people are used to bidding in this way.

Proxy bidding

You instruct the auctioneer to bid on your behalf up to your maximum pre-set amount. Your bid is confidential between you and the auctioneers, and it will not be disclosed to anyone else. The auctioneer will bid on your behalf in accordance with the other bids, so you can still get the property for less than your top bid. You can keep up-to-date with the bidding by watching the auction live.

Telephone bidding

You will need to be available on the day of the auction for us to contact you by phone. One of our auction team will give you a call and bid on your behalf as per your instructions.

Internet bidding

We also have the option to bid through a secure area on our website. We will set up your account and provide you with your log in details to bid. You will be able to see the bidding live and place your bid accordingly.

Please note, you must read the legal pack before we can create your internet bidding account, please ensure you register with the same email address you provide to us for the system to identify you. If you do not follow these important steps you won’t be able to bid.

If you are interested in bidding please complete our remote bidding form and return it by email to [email protected] with your identification. All forms must be completed and returned no less than 24 hours before the auction, to give us time to process your request.

As with any auction, if you are successful, your purchase will be legally binding, and you will exchange contracts on the fall of the gavel. A member of our staff will sign the contract/special conditions of sale on your behalf, in accordance with the terms and conditions, which are available with our remote bidding form.

It is your responsibility to ensure you have completed all of your pre-auction checks which should include viewing the property, reading the legal pack, checking the addendum for any changes to the catalogue, reading the important information and common auction conditions, as well as arranging a survey and your finances (if applicable).

If you are unsure about your bidding options, have any questions, or want advice about buying at auction our team will be happy to help you. Please contact us on 0121 312 1212.

Please note that Bond Wolfe Auctions cannot be held responsible for internet/connection/communications problems which stop you from being able to bid for any of our auction properties.
