Traditional values, modern solutions

Do you have a property to sell or let?

The former RBS branch in Belper, closed two years ago, is up for sale in the upcoming Bond Wolfe Auctions’ remote bidding auction later this month.

The auction on Wednesday 16th September will be the largest-ever livestreamed auction to be held in the UK and starts at the earlier time of 9am to accommodate the 214 lots, with potential buyers bidding by proxy, telephone or internet only.

The attractive former bank branch for sale in the upcoming auction stands at 34 King Street in Belper and is listed as a commercial lost in the BWA auction, with a guide price* of £200,000.

It is expected to attract considerable interest from potential bidders because of its site in the historic Derbyshire town and its suitability for a range of alternative uses – subject to obtaining appropriate planning permissions.

The 2,490 sq ft property comprises an end-terraced building comprising a former bank premises over ground and first floors together with a basement. The current configuration has the former main banking hall on the ground floor with partitioned offices and stores. On the first floor there are further offices, a former staff room and male and female WCs. The basement includes the strong room, stores and plant room.

It stands in a prominent position fronting the southern side of the pedestrianised King Street close to its junction with Campbell Street at the heart of Belper town centre. It is surrounded by local independent retailers and chains belonging to national operators including Superdrug, Holland and Barrett, Specsavers, Greggs, Lloyds Bank and Poundland

Ian Tudor, managing director of Bond Wolfe Auctions, said: “This property is considered suitable for a variety of alternative uses, subject to obtaining the appropriate planning permission.

“The size and position of the site in this popular village makes it highly attractive to potential developers and we are expecting high levels of interest and highly competitive bidding on the day.”

Many of the properties featured in the sale have a virtual tour available, and more details are available at www.bondwolfe.com.
